Unavoidable locations near the holiday cottages and guest houses

Located in Europe, in the South of France in the Mediterranean hinterland, the Causse and Cévennes territory extends to more than 3000 km².
It is registered in the Unesco World Heritage.

It gathers 2 regions (Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées) and 4 departments (Aveyron, Lozère, Gard & Hérault). Near Mostuéjouls and the Soleilo holiday cottages and guesthouses, many villages, shops and services are open for your greatest pleasure.

Peyrelade and its castle

Atypical construction grasped onto a huge rock, this medieval fortress reveals its historical vestiges and, above all, the wonderful panorama of the Tarn Valley.

Compeyre

A village perched high above the Tarn Valley, with a craftsman's house and a vineyard house in the heart of the village.

The Rozier and Peyreleau

At the confluence of the Tarn and the Jonte, these 2 villages are located in the hollow of a great furrow. They are perpendicular to the Roc of Capluc (which means "head of light") on top of the Rozier. It is a rocky peak that offers from its promontory a panorama of exceptional beauty.

The Vignes (Vines)

A small village located at the widening of the valley and its “Sublime Point” : a rock overlooking the canyon and a sublime vue of the Gorges of the Tarn.

The Malène

Close to the rock and dominated by the point of the Barre, with its ancient alleys, its Romanesque church, and its castle hotel, the viewpoint of the Hourtous' Rock is worth the journey. You can also sail on typical boats called “the boatmen of the Malène”.

Saint-Chely du Tarn

This village retains its charm thanks to its two underground rivers, which flow into the Tarn in the form of waterfalls, and its small but spectacular chapel nestled in a rocky outcrop.

Sainte-Énimie

The Medieval, the touristic Sainte-Enimie, is an attractive and active city located on the route of the great draille of Aubrac; it is the other door of the Tarn Gorges. You can find an ancient abbey and architecture.

Meyrueis

City in the middle of rivers, located at the crossroads of the Tarn Gorges and the Jonte, the Cévennes and the Mount Aigoual.
Discover the Clock Tower, former tower at the corner of the fortifications, on the cliff that dominates the small chapel Notre-Dame-du-Rocher. Nearby you can visit the caves of Dargilan, the Aven Armand, or the Abîme of Bramabiau.

Saint-Eulalie de Cernon

A Templar town, untouched by time but fully living in its era, this small fortified market town rejoices naturally. Take advantage of this by visiting the vivarium or by taking a ride on the former railway track by train or by bike.

The Couvertoirade, the Templar city par excellence

This fortified city, classified since 2009 as a Great Site of Midi-Pyrénées, reflects the power of the Templar and Hospitaller orders by its architecture.
Discovering this medieval city on the borders of the Larzac Causses is a real reward since this village is part of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France” with a unique and preserved heritage.
Walk around in its alleys and enter the cellars transformed into art shops.

Peyre

It is hard not to fall for the charm of this village leaning against a tuff cliff riddled with caves. Most of the houses are troglodytes, just like the Romanesque church fortified in the 17th century. Its narrow alleys of stones where lay flowers recall the image of Mediterranean villages and offer a refuge for coolness in summer.
This is a unique site that reveals an exceptional view of the Millau Viaduct, a perfect union of ancient and modern, which dominates the right side of the Tarn.
